Huge In Japan

"Huge in japan" is dario Boente's latest project.

Over jazz foundations Dario layers the grime and groove of New York and London, the heart beats of Brazil, the rituals of Argentina and the mother tongues of Africa. Energy in its purest form, Dario harnesses his discipline into sharp musical choreography with an unmistakably mischievous edge.

For Huge in Japan Dario teams up with inspired musicians from around the globe. Collaborators include Acid jazz pioneer Ronny Jordan on guitar, three time Grammy Award winner Antonio Sanchez on drums, Jorge Pardo on flute, Luis Quintero on percussion, and Gregoire Maret on harmonica among others.

As his New York audiences can attest, Dario’s music excites both the revelers in the middle of the dance floor and the avid listeners on the side.

The Last of the International Playboys

Original songs that are tight and danceable. Hipster cool meets Latin heat. American standards from Duke Ellington to Cole Porter ... from Harry Warren to Rogers & Hart ... from then to now, or where the evening takes us. Latin dance and romance favorites by Carlos Jobim, Mongo Santamaria and other greats.

Bandleader Walter Kuehr (accordion, bassoon, backup vocals) originally from Hamburg, Germany has been part of the NYC music scene since his arrival here in 1990. He started The Last of the International Playboys in the mid '90s.

Walter has gathered together some of the most accomplished jazz and latin musicians in New York today: Memmo Accevedo (percussion), Michael Arenella (trombone), Steve Bloom (guitar), Mark Giammario (drums), Steve Gluzband (trumpet), Craig Rivers (tenor sax, soprano sax, flute), Jennifer Vincent (bass).

Fronting the band is lead singer Babi Floyd, an amazing vocal force to be reckoned with and a fantastic showman! Babi has recorded and/or worked with: Nina Simone, Jimmy Cliff, Esther Phillips, Bette Midler, The Neville Brothers, Luther Vandross, George Benson, Frankie Valle, Erykah Badu, Tom Browne, Tom Jones, Carly Simon and Ray Charles. He is currently working with Keith Richards on a music project. Quincy Jones considers Babi one of his "SuperSingers".

 Hernan Romero

Hernan Romero is a virtuoso guitarist and composer, internationally known for his fiery guitar, yet sensual compositions flavored with flamenco and Latin jazz. He grew up in Argentina, a son of the Grammy award winner, Estella Raval; Hernan worked with some of the world’s greatest guitarists, such as Paco De Lucia and Al di Meola. His latest album is "Tres Caras de una Moneda".
